Help shape our action plans
This phase of the engagement has now concluded.
We are currently updating the Belfast Agenda to take account of what we heard and will issue a refreshed Agenda for public consultation later in the spring.
Thank you to everyone who attended our workshops, took part in our surveys or posted comments!
For Reference:
In 2017, we published the Belfast Agenda, the city’s first community plan. It looks into the future and sets out our plans and actions to make Belfast "a great place to live and work for everyone".
In 2022, the world is a very different place, and we want to make sure we are still on the right path. Much has happened since the publication of the Belfast Agenda. Never could we have guessed that two of those years would be spent social distancing and moving much of our work to remote online platforms. However, the value of the partnerships developed during the initial phase of community planning came into their own as everyone pulled together to provide support to communities, businesses, and individuals.
Last year we started reviewing the Belfast Agenda by talking to residents, city partners, stakeholders and organisations. They told us that the Belfast Agenda’s vision and long-term outcomes are still appropriate. Using what we learned, we also agreed the following priorities. These are the things that we will focus on over the next 4 years.
We now want to look in more detail at these priorities and what difference we wish to make over the next 4 years. This will help make sure that our decisions, policies and services work best for the people they are intended to benefit.
How to have your say
During October and November, we held several workshops across the city and online so that our residents and community partners could learn more about our plans and have their say on what we do next. However, if you weren't able to attend one of the workshops, you can still add comments and contribute to the conversation by posting to the discussion forums under each of our priorities using the links on the right of this page. Please note, you must be a registered user on Your say Belfast to post comments on the forum pages.
Over the coming months, we'll use what we have heard to develop a draft Belfast Agenda, which we will issue for public consultation in spring 2023. We will post updates on this page as this work progresses and, in the meantime, the Community Planning Partnership will continue its efforts to plan and deliver the priorities that you told us are important.
