Belfast City Council’s Supporting Vibrant Business Destination Programme is a partnership between the Department for Communities and Belfast City Council. The Council has put in place a pilot programme of support for Business/Traders Associations outside of the city centre boundary and Business Improvement Districts.
The aim of the initiative is to strengthen the competitiveness and create more vibrant local business destinations and the programme is to be delivered and projects completed by 31 October 2023.
The overall objectives include:
To increase engagement and partnership working with local traders’ associations
Support the development of area-based actions plans which identify and seek to address specific local concerns and deliver specific, measurable benefits over the short/medium and long term
Increasing footfall and sales as a direct result of marketing and promotional activity.
Enhancing the profile of the area with a view to stimulating economic activity
Supporting the growth and development of businesses engaged in associated activity
Supporting thesustainability of businesses and local traders’ associations.
As part of this programme we would like to seek your views on two occasions, before the programme commences and after the programme finishes. This would give us an insight into effectiveness of this initiative.

The area in which you are situated is currently applying for funding up to the value of £40,000 and we would be grateful if you could spend a few minutes to complete the following questions prior to the programme being delivered by the local traders group. Your answers will enable us to measure the impact of the project (A subsequent questionnaire will be issued post programme). Your views on this are greatly appreciated.
