Everyone in Belfast deserves to enjoy a good quality of life, regardless of who they are, or where they live.
Work under this theme places health and wellbeing and community regeneration at the heart of our city strategy, with our communities as the lifeblood.
We have identified two priorities under this theme:
Health inequalities
Community and neighbourhood regeneration
We have created detailed action plans for each of these priorities. They can be viewed by clicking on the 'action plans' link on this page.
Measures of success
The things we want to achieve by 2028 include:
Develop and implement place-based community plans which will deliver the ambitions set out within the Belfast Agenda.
reducing the total number of individuals affected by chronic homelessness by 5% per year.
improving the proportion of people satisfied with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
reducing the number of overweight people or people living with obesity
increasing physical activity levels.
increasing the amount of people who are satisfied with living in their neighbourhood from 86% to 90%.
transferring at least three publicly owned assets to organisations within the community.
