In October 2022 'The Middle', the first official mountain bike trail in Cave Hill Country Park was formally opened for public use. With project development support from Outdoor Recreation NI, over the past two years the pilot has been testing new arrangements between Belfast City Council and Cavehill Mountain Bike Club (CMC) for the maintenance, management and inspection of the mountain bike trail .
The Middle Trail was constructed by hand using natural materials to best preserve the local environment and protect biodiversity in the park. New signage has been erected throughout Cave Hill Country Park for walkers, cyclists, runners and tourists to ensure all users can enjoy the facilitates safely.

Now that 'The Middle' has been open for over a year, Belfast City Council and partners are keen to hear views of users of the new trail and wider Cave Hill Country Park users to inform the evaluation of the pilot - and you could help us by completing the survey below.
