What is the Belfast City Youth Council?

The Belfast City Youth Council provides a voice for young people living in Belfast.

It is made up of 40 young people who together work to make sure that the views of young people, and the issues that are important to them, are heard and listened to.

Every two years a group of young people volunteer to be involved in the Youth Council.  They go through a selection process to ensure we have a fair mix of young people from across the city and from different backgrounds.

All of our members are aged between 13-18 (21 if you are disabled or have just left care) and are a forum member for two years.

Can I become a member of the Youth Council?

So that we can have a fair spread of young people across the city, we run a formal selection process every two years.  This means you have to apply and go through a selection process to be part of the Belfast City Youth Council.

But you can still have your say and get involved in Belfast City Youth Forum projects.  Sign up on this page to be kept informed about what we are doing.

Why should I apply to be a member of the Belfast City Youth Council?
