Bank of Ideas Voting Day Review

We are reviewing the Bank of Ideas processes and would really appreciate your feedback on this.

There are 2 sections to this survey. The first section focuses on the Voting Day format and the second section asks about your experience of funding outside Bank of Ideas and needs for further support.

Based on previously received feedback, we are looking into ways of improving the Bank of Ideas Voting Day. We are looking at improving the experience both for stallholders/applicants and for voters/the public.

1.

Space for showcasing your project

We previously received feedback that: Stallholders/applicants would like more space to showcase their project (This has previously been half of a 6ft table, to accommodate numbers in City Hall). To what extent do you agree or disagree that the stallholders need more space?
2.

Crowds/noise

Voters/the public found the event to be very busy, and crowds and noise can be overwhelming. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement ?

Potential new format

We are looking at a model of potentially continuing the host the Voting Day at City Hall on a Sunday, but if numbers of applicants are similar or increased, splitting this in to two slots – for example, morning 10-12 and afternoon 2-4pm, with a break from 12-2pm for turn around of stalls.

We hope that this would

  • Give stallholder/participants more space (a full table each)

  • Alleviate issues with crowds/noise

  • Give stallholders a shorter window for presenting – (some felt 3 hours was too long)

  • Allow stallholders to have more of a chance to look around the other stalls (by visiting the morning/afternoon)

  • Enable us to continue the Voting Day being in City Hall, as we’ve had feedback that people enjoy participating in the Voting Day in their civic building. It would be difficult to find another building to accommodate the event.

Bank of Ideas Follow on Support

We want to better understand how to support Bank of Ideas applicants beyond the initial funding scheme, to further its impact for individuals and organisations and their ideas.

To plan for this and develop potential future support, we need to better understand the needs.

Any further developments to the scheme would be dependent on necessary approvals and available resources. We need a few details about your project.
