Helping Hand In Difficult Times

A group of Asian ladies from Belfast Asian Women's Academy came together to support the local community during the pandemic. At the start of the lockdown, this ladies started an initiative to prepare and cook food and donated it to the Belfast Homeless Services for 39 consecutive weeks and a total of 780 homemade meals were donated. In April 2020 this ladies raised money amongst themselves and purchased 5000 pair of gloves and donated it to a Care Home in West Belfast. In Jun they donated 30 pairs of of handmade scrubs to the Belfast Health Trust. In November 2020 they donated toiletries and other essential items to the Belfast Homeless Services. They also donated gas top up vouchers to the residents in Sandy Row and cash contribution to the South West Belfast Foodbank.
