Welcome back to another edition of the VCSE Sectoral Advisory Panel Newsletter.

It has been a busy few months for the Panel, we were delighted to host another in our series of sectoral engagement sessions as well as the 2nd annual VCSE Community Conference in November.

Resilience and Sustainability Board

In our last newsletter we introduced the first of the four delivery boards, the Living Here Board, which feed into the Belfast Agenda. This month we will focus on the work of the Resilience and Sustainability board which VCSE Panel members David Babington and Jim Bradley sit on (you can find out more about them here).

The purpose of the Resilience and Sustainability Board is to support the aim of transitioning Belfast to an inclusive, net zero emission, climate resilient economy in a generation.

Recent activity undertaken by the Board

Sectoral Engagement – Young People, Childcare and Family Support Services

As part of our sectoral engagement outreach, we convened a session on 24th November to bring together VCSE organisations working in the Young People, Childcare and Family Support Services sectors. This session provided the opportunity to:

  • Introduce the Panel, their role, and work to date; and
  • Allow the sector to tell us about their Community Planning priorities.

What you told us:

We are planning a number of sessions in the coming months, some of which will focus on sectors whilst others are targeted at specific communities of interest. The aim of the sessions is to allow the Panel to introduce their role and work to date and allow discussion space for you to tell us about your priorities within the context of Community Planning.

Community Development, Restorative Justice and Community Relations sectorWednesday 19th January 2022 @ 10:30
