Consultation has concluded
The VCSE Sectoral Advisory Panel held ts second annual Community Conference for representatives from Belfast's third sector on 17th November 2021, 14.00-17.00 virtually via Zoom. This year's conference was titled:
"Enabling Change: People and Communities at the heart of Community Planning How we deliver shared prosperity and sustainability through partnership"
The event explored two of the main challenges faced by Belfast and its citizens, and offered an opportunity for people and organisations to explore the key policy and behavioural changes needed to deliver the aspirations of people and communities across the city. Coming after the most recent Budget and Spending Review and the world’s spotlight on COP26,the conference had three keynote speakers who provided their perspectives on this year’s conference themes of poverty, sustainability and behavioural change. The speakers were:
Chris Birt - Associate Director for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, Joseph Roundtree Foundation, on the issue of Poverty
Debbie Caldwell - Belfast Climate Commissioner, Belfast City Council, speaking on the issue of Sustainability
Dr Sarah Meekin - Head of Psychological Services, Belfast Trust, speaking on the issue of Behavioural Change
