Have your say on how we communicate with you via social media, both now and in the future.

Belfast City Council was one of the first public sector organisations in NI to use social media, launching on Facebook and Twitter back in 2007.

Since then, our social media channels have become a key part of how we communicate with you, our residents.

We provide regular news and updates about council services and facilities, as well as wider news about what’s happening in Belfast, via our four main platforms:

As customers, you are also using our channels more and more to share your feedback with us about how we’re doing – both positive and negative.

Social media is also a vital way for us to get important messages out to you at key times, for example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, holiday periods and in emergencies.

And it’s increasingly become a way to hear from you about the issues that matter to you as a ratepayer, and in your wider community.

Now, in 2022, we want to make sure our social media is still the best it can be.

Our aim is to make sure our channels continue to reflect what you’d like to see from us, and provide you with content that’s relevant to you.

Take our survey and tell us:

  • what you think about how we use social media now
  • the type of content you enjoy and what you’d like to see more of
  • your views on diversity, accessibility and readability across our channels
  • how you’d like us to use social media in the future to keep you updated.

It will take around 20 minutes to complete, and your views will ensure we maximise our use of social media platforms and tools, and reflect how you want to hear from, and communicate with, us.

Our survey is open until Sunday 3 April 2022 and we want to hear from as many people as possible – please spread the word on your own social media pages too!
