Navarra Place Playground Consultation

Closed 16 Apr 2017

Opened 29 Mar 2017

Overview

We're working with the Department for Justice and Greater Whitewell Community Surgery on a proposal to improve the playground at Navarra Place.

As part of the improvements, if there is community support for this, we would hope to address the interface structure at Navarra Place and Serpentine Road.

What are the proposals for the new park?

Through this investment we hope to create an attractive open space that families and children from all sides of the community can enjoy.

The project is designed to improve the facilities at Navarra Place to include a playground that will cater for children aged one to 10 and a small multi-use games area.

The play space will provide equipment for children of all abilities. Inclusive play is a key consideration, and we will ensure that the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, sensory and communication aspects of play are met.

What are the proposals for the interface structure?

The project offers the opportunity to address the interface structure at Navarra Place and Serpentine Road by potentially replacing it with a normal park boundary fence.

We understand that this is a very sensitive issue, especially for residents living close by, and no decision has been made on whether this will form part of the project.

Why We Are Consulting

Our plans are at a very early stage and we’re keen to hear your views on both the playground proposal and the potential to address the interface structure at Navarra Place and Serpentine Road.

Your feedback is important to us and we will use it to refine the designs of the playground.  It will also allow our elected representitives to make an informed decision on how to progress the project.

All responses will be strictly confidential.
