Belfast City Council is the Data Controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for personal data gathered, as part of this survey, for the purposes of managing the expression of interest in the Homes On Upper Spaces for Everyone (HOUSE) Programme.

The Council must have a valid lawful basis under UK GDPR to process your personal data and accepts that you are providing your personal data based on consent and are positively agreeing for the council to hold and further use it. Additionally, the Council lawful basis for processing is for a Public Task for the exercise of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority found in the UK GDPR Article 6 (e).

BCC accepts that you are providing address and property details based on consent and are positively agreeing for the council to hold and further use it. If you provide contact personal data, we accept that this is also carried out on the basis of consent, and you are positively agreeing for it to be held in order for us to contact you to follow up to confirm information provided or to update you on any developments with the HOUSE programme. A contact name or email will only be used for the purpose stated. 

Your personal data will not be shared or disclosed to any other person or external organisation without your consent unless the law permits or places an obligation on the BCC to do so. Personal data may be shared internally with council staff who are involved in administering and managing the HOUSE programme.   

Personal data is held and stored by the Council in a safe and secure manner and in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations and in line with the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.

Please note, that if you do provide a name and email address, you can ask for it to be removed at any time by contacting BCC at belfasti@belfastcity.gov.uk and all reasonable steps will be taken to remove it.
