What we do with your information

Belfast City Council is committed to protecting your privacy and to processing any personal data submitted in a manner which meets the requirements of UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Belfast City Council is the Data Controller under the UK GDPR for personal data gathered, as part of the survey for managing the expression of interest in the Homes On Upper Spaces for Everyone (HOUSE) Programme.

The Council must have a valid lawful basis under UK GDPR to process your personal data and you are consensually providing your personal data to the Council whose lawful basis for processing is for the performance a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority found in the UK GDPR Article 6 (1) (e).

If you participate in the survey, the Council may wish to contact you for a follow up and confirm the information provided or to update you on any developments with the HOUSE programme. A contact name or email will only be used for the purpose stated. 

What type of personal data is processed

Personal Information: Name as property owner, email address, property details.

Sharing your personal data with others

The responses will be reviewed by staff who are involved in administering the survey and any information that you provide will be used for this purpose. Your personal data will be shared internally with Council staff who are involved in administering and managing the HOUSE programme and where necessary, between internal departments with the purpose of supporting an effective delivery of service. Your personal data will not be disclosed to any other organisation without your consent or unless the law permits or places an obligation on the Council to do so.

How long we hold your information for

Your personal data is held and stored by the Council in a safe and secure manner and in line with the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.
