What are the next steps after the consultation completes?
The findings of the consultation and final recommendations will be considered by Members at our People and Communities Committee in Spring 2025.
Any operational changes to the opening hours for the Greenway agreed by Members will then be trialled for a one-year period commencing shortly afterwards. On completion of this trial period, a further consultation will take place to inform a review of the gate opening hour arrangements across the Greenway. It is only at this stage after the second phase of consultation that final recommendations will be made to Members, and agreed opening hours for the Greenway will be formalised in By-Laws for the Greenway and become operational
What are Park Bye-laws?
Bye-laws are rules put in place by councils to help improve everyone’s enjoyments of parks and open spaces by letting users know what they can and can’t do within them, including when they are open to the public and should be entered.
What are finger posts?
Finger post or boards are directional signs to help people find their way through a park or green space.
What are thermoplastic pavement way markers?
Thermoplastic pavement way markers are a type of long-term surface marking for paths. They adhere firmly to surfaces and provide highly visible, directional signage for users at ground level.
Why do we need removable bollards?
Removable bollards prevent unrestricted car access but can be removed as necessary so that emergency vehicles and maintenance vans can access the parks and open spaces.
