Youth Summit on the Climate Crisis

The results of the youth survey on the climate crisis were used to create a report, and the findings were shared at a Youth Summit held in Belfast City Hall on the 5th November, attended by Minister Mallon DFI, Lord Mayor Kate Nicholl, NI Commissioner for Children and Young People Koulla Yiasouma, hosted by Barra Best. The event was led by young people from the Belfast Climate Commission Youth Working Group and was funded by Belfast City Council.

The young people recommended -

1.Use multiple platforms – politicians and scientists

2.Educational settings need expertise and resources

3.Independent Youth Climate Commissioner

4.Political messaging – style, tone, and content

5.Greener employment opportunities
