This phase of the consultation has concluded

We are producing a Community Support Plan for 2025-2029. This plan will set out the basis for how we provide support to local communities and residents across the city.

The Community Support Plan will:

  • Provide a clear articulation of our community support priorities and resource allocation to deliver these priorities.
  • Detail how priorities will be supported through an updated and refreshed funding programme of Community Grants for 2026-2029.
  • Agree outcomes that will drive delivery of Community Support activity for 2025-2029.

Belfast City Council provides both financial support and services to support the community and voluntary sector within the city. In 2023 we offered a range of funding programmes totalling £5.61 million which included, £1.7 million in Capacity Building funding and £1.4 million in revenue funding to the community and voluntary sector. In addition, we provided services such as community facilities, training, local area problem solving, community development staff support and delivery of community programmes.

We now need the views of residents, local community organisations and other stakeholders about the key priorities and workstreams that should be included in our Community Support Plan (2025-2029). Your feedback will help determine what our service and funding priorities should focus on.

Please give us your thoughts by completing our questionnaire. (opens in new page)
