You are invited to attend the launch of the 7th Annual Belfast Learning Festival.

When: Monday 22 April, 10.45am - 1pm

Where: 2 Royal Avenue, Belfast City Centre

Event details:

This public event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about what makes Belfast a UNESCO Learning City. This event is also open to businesses and organisations who want to support groups and teams with learning journeys.

  1. Inspiring Learner Stories: Be inspired by the personal journeys of a range of individuals who have embraced lifelong learning in Belfast. Their stories will showcase the transformative power of education, providing motivation to embark on new, lifelong learning adventures.
  2. Panel Discussion on Learning for Climate Change: Engage in a thought-provoking panel discussion as key experts shine a light on the crucial role of education in addressing climate change and the initiatives driving sustainability across our city. Panel members include:
    • Debbie Caldwell, Climate Commissioner at Belfast City Council
    • Keith Gibson, Foundation Development Manager at Irish Football Association
    • Denis Barrett, Cork Learning City Coordinator at Cork City Council
    • Ciarán Ferrin, Sustainability and Social Value Officer at Lagan Specialist Contractors and Belfast's Youth Climate Commissioner
    • Sara Lynch, Head of Sustainability in the Estates Directorate at Queen's University Belfast
    • Diane Emerson, Director & UKIMEA Leader – Climate & Sustainability at ARUP, a global engineering and design consultancy
  3. Interactive Workshop: Collaborate with others to help develop practical strategies for a greener more sustainable Belfast.

Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided.
