Páirc Nua Chollann

We wanted to give people in Belfast a say in the naming of the new park in the Colin area of the city. So, we developed a shortlist of 5 names to choose from and put this out to a public vote. We received 874 responses with Páirc Nua Chollann emerging as the top choice. Over 42% of you opted for this name, which is an Irish translation of the name ‘Colin New Park’.

At July council, elected members approved Páirc Nua Chollann as the name for the new park.

Work is continuing on the new park and we’re hoping to open Páirc Nua Chollann later on this summer. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further updates.
